Its not a good time to be broke
I have said this for quite sometime and I will continue to say it, "There is no better time to be in the market." The reality is that we are in a down market which creates tremendous buying opportunities that usually are not available when the market is good. Now, I know that you look at the news or even in your own 401k's and think that old Keith is off his rocker, but the reality is that people are making money in the market right now. Since the market started tumbling years ago there are investors who are on the right side of the market who make money when the market is headed down. So, they are making all of the money right now and there are people who know that the market will come back and so they are buying cheap stocks right now and are waiting out the recession. the fact of the matter is that you can make a lot of money if you are on the right side of the market and/or willing to wait out the recession. There are small companies and mid sized companies who are actually doing quite well in this economy and there is no reason not to buy into them and watch your money grow. Although we never hop for depressed economic times the fact is that when those times are upon us it creates a buying opportunity. Face it, with everything that you have to deal with right now wouldn't it be nice to make some money at the end of it?

Liquid Assets
Unique times call for unique investing ideas and I believe that I have one for you and its Water of all things. I watched a documentary on water that chronicled what was happening around the world with people who could not get enough fresh water. Of course, I was very upset after watching the documentary, but it did make me think about the future of water and just how important fresh water really is to all of us. So, I did some digging and found some companies that I like and I believe that will grow this year. Now, remember to do your own homework before you invest in any stocks, but here is my list of Water companies to invest in right now. American States Water Company (AWR) American Pacific Corp (APFC) Consolidated Water (CWCO) Southwest Water (SWWC)

Western Digital

How would you like to buy shares in the largest computer hard drive maker? I recommended this stock 5 years ago and I still live it. Since the new administration is talking about getting the US on track technologically Western Digital could benefit from the spending. Check them out their stock symbol
Is WDC.

President Obama

Today is perhaps one of the biggest days in US history as Barack Obama becomes the 44th President. I hope that his reaching the nations highest office will make everyone take a good look at themselves and change. The fact is that change is long overdue and it is necessary for growth. I am not going to put all of my dreams on Obama's shoulders nor am I going to ask him to turn water into wine. Rather I am going to look for ways to better myself and my circumstances on my own. One day we will stop looking for someone to change our problems and realize that we have had the power all along!

Bush not helping
The market is going to start off flat with bad earnings report expected this morning. President Bush is not really helping too much with his speech either. I was expecting something a little stronger from him, but I have not heard anything yet. Anyway, we are going to keep with last weeks stock picks and we are going to add Baldwin Technologies (BLD). Let's get this money!
